GARDEN CITY, NY — Garden City is losing another Italian restaurant. Maggiano's Little Italy will be serving its last family-style meal next week.
Sitting at 600 Garden City Plaza in Garden City, its last day in business will be August 24.
Since 2015, the establishment has been serving classic Italian dishes like rigatoni alla vodka, fettuccine alfredo, chicken parmesan, and desserts such as tiramisu.
An employee said the restaurant will be closing because "the lease is up." Corporate sent an email to customers who were signed up for announcements, the worker said.
The restaurant still has a location in New Jersey, the employee said.
Maggiano's is one of two Italian restaurants in Garden City closing this summer, alongside La Nonna Bella's.
After nearly two decades in business, La Nonna Bella, an Italian restaurant in Garden City, said that despite "extensive efforts and sincere attempts" to negotiate the future of the lease, they were unable to reach an agreement.
