• 1 hospitalized, 7 displaced after fire in New Hyde Park home (newsday.com) — A New Hyde Park house fire early Sunday displaced seven residents and sent one person to the hospital, drawing a large response from nearby departments including Garden City Park. Firefighters brought the blaze under control in about 30 minutes, and county fire marshals along with police arson investigators are still determining the cause. Garden City–area residents may notice increased emergency activity as the investigation continues.
