• Nation's Longest Active HSFB Winning Streak Ends After Massapequa's Upset vs. Garden City (bleacherreport.com) — Garden City High School's football team saw its 68‑game winning streak, the longest active run in the nation, snapped in a 21‑14 loss to Massapequa on Monday night. A late touchdown and interception sealed the upset, shifting national attention to another school while marking a dramatic turning point for Garden City's powerhouse program.
   

• Campus News: College Honors; Entrepreneurship Grants (huntingtonnow.com) — Adelphi University's Garden City campus will host a new, no-cost Adelphi Entrepreneur Experience program funded by a $982,000 federal grant, starting February 2027. Local residents, students, and workers from Nassau, Suffolk, New York City, and nearby New Jersey counties can apply to join nine-month cohorts focused on launching startups in high-growth and high-need fields, with applications open now for 2027 sessions.
   

• Behind the Scenes with the Cradle of Aviation Museum's Curtiss Oriole (vintageaviationnews.com) — A rare Curtiss Oriole biplane has arrived at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City for a multi‑year restoration and eventual display right where it was originally built over a century ago. Local visitors can look forward to seeing the aircraft suspended in the museum cafeteria, restored with many original parts and painted to honor its Long Island newsreel history.
