Beer Expo Returns To Nassau Coliseum In November

You can sample more than 100 beers from local and national breweries.

The Great Beer Expo will return to the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Nov. 2. This year’s event will showcase local, national and international breweries, offering more than 100 beers for sampling, plus a special selection of wines and ciders.

The pay-one-price general admission ticket includes all beer tastings.

“This year’s beer lineup could be our best yet,” said event producer, Andy Calimano, owner of Starfish Junction Productions. “The interest in this event keeps growing year to year, that’s a trend we are very proud of. We have loyal attendees, exceptional exhibitors and supportive brewers to thank for that. This year we are pulling out all the stops."

A special Veterans Day tribute is planned at the event, starting with a Color Guard presentation from the Vietnam Veterans of America (Nassau County Chapter 82). Also at the expo will be an eight-foot “thank you for your service” card for attendees to sign, a holiday card mailbox station where attendees can write postcards to the troops who are deployed, and representatives from Services for the Underserved, who will offer information on a variety of much-needed veteran services offered by their group.

Kids Need More will be conducting a holiday toy drive to collect donations for their Holiday Cheer Bus that delivers toys to local children dealing with serious illness. All those who donate a toy will receive a raffle ticket and have a chance to win a special prize pack of event tickets.

The Beer Expo will have two sessions: 12:30 to 4 p.m. and 5:30 to 9 p.m. General Admission tickets are $45 (advance purchase) and $55 (at the door, if available). Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online or at the box office located at the Coliseum.
