Brooklyn Man Arrested For Nassau County Murder: Police

Police say he shot two men, one of whom later died from his injuries.

A Brooklyn man was arrested on Tuesday and charged with the murder of a Hempstead man, who was shot early Monday morning in Hempstead.

According to police, two men were shot in front of 100 Terrace Ave. just after 2:45 a.m. Monday. One of the men, Matthew Gilreath, 28, of Hempstead, died from his injuries on Tuesday.

Later that day, police arrested James Wilson, 35, of Gold Street, Brooklyn, for the murder.

Police charged Wilson with second-degree murder. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
