Christmas Eve Stabbing In Nassau; 2 Hospitalized: Police

NEW CASSEL, NY — A man was stabbed during a Christmas Eve disturbance in New Cassel.

Jose Anibal Moreno Rodriguez, 59, was arrested and charged with assault. He also faces a count of fourth-degree criminal possession of weapon, authorities said.

Moreno Rodriguez was allegedly involved in a verbal argument with a man just before 9:30 p.m., police said.

He displayed a knife and stabbed the 25-year-old victim multiple times causing a deep cut to his abdomen, police said.

The victim and Moreno Rodriguez were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The victim was listed in stable condition.

Moreno Rodriguez was expected to be arraigned on Monday.
