Class of 2010 Celebrates With Pool Party Bash
Graduates make a splash Saturday night at Community Park.
Garden City High School graduates enjoyed their last celebration together as the Class of 2010 at the Garden City Pool Saturday night. The Men's Association hosted the pool party, which featured a Trinidadian steel orchestra and generous buffet. Over 200 students attended the event.
Amidst the sounds of calypso, friends hugged and traded high fives to celebrate their high school graduation. The mood was upbeat and celebratory and a perfect ending for their graduation, which occurred earlier in the day.
Graduate Ayda Suberoglu summed up the overall sentiment of her classmates: "It's sad but at the same time we're happy to celebrate our accomplishments and we're ready for college."

"Garden City High School provides the students with such a unique experience. The PTA, along with the school, plans out the senior calendar and the events are unparalleled from the parent skit, the mother/son and father/daughter dance, banquet awards, the pre-prom party, the prom, graduation and the pool party. These events make the year truly special. What makes the difference is how supportive the school is. Parental involvement is encouraged so we can share these experiences with our children," says Hughes.
"This is a fantastic class and a tight-knit group. They have accomplished so much in so many areas, not just academics but music, athletics, theatre, community service and so much more."
Parent Barbara Casler added, "We're proud of the Class of 2010."
