Construction Worker Dies After Becoming Submerged During Water Main Break: PD
The West Babylon man died in East Garden City Friday, police say.
EAST GARDEN CITY, NY — A construction worker died after becoming submerged during a water main break in East Garden City Friday, police said.
According to Nassau County police, the incident took place at 11:13 a.m. in the vicinity of Ring Road.
Rafael Peralta, 56, of West Babylon, the construction worker who had been underground, was pulled out by coworkers after being submerged during the water main break, police said.

Life-saving measures were administered at the scene; Peralta was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced dead by a hospital physician, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
