Cops: Man Stabbed Ex Multiple Times in Neck, Shoulder
Man stabbed ex-girlfriend with "large knife," cops said.

A Westbury man faces attempted murder charges after stabbing his ex-girlfriend multiple times with a large knife, according to Nassau County Police.
At 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, Alvin Smith, 45, approached an old girlfriend as she was walking on Nassau Road in Uniondale, cops said. Using a “large knife,” Smith then stabbed the woman multiple times in her neck and shoulder areas, cops said.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital and admitted. Her status was not reported.

Smith was found shortly after the stabbing on nearby Hill Street where he was taken into custody, cops said. The knife was found at the scene.
The victim now has an order of protection against Smith, police said.

Smith was charged with second-degree attempted murder, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, first-degree criminal contempt, and aggravated criminal contempt. He was arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
