Drunken Driving Into Tree; Children Passengers Hurt: Police
Ruben Gonzalez was charged with Leandra's Law and other infractions, police said.

GARDEN CITY, NY — A Westbury man was arrested Monday evening for driving while intoxicated with three young children in the vehicle, police said.
Ruben Gonzalez, 41, was taken into custody after crashing his 2023 Cadillac Escalade into a tree near Cherry Valley Avenue and 10th Street in Garden City, authorities said.
The female front passenger, 37, and Gonzalez's children (ages 4, 9 and 11) were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Along with the Leandra's Law charges, Gonzalez faces three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and multiple traffic and vehicle infractions.
He was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
