Garden City, N.Y. - Senior distance runner, Elizabeth Eickelberg was named the Northeast-10 Runner of the Week for the week of October 5 as announced earlier this afternoon by the conference office. This is the award for the Leonia, NJ native this year.
Eickelberg led the Panthers to a 40th place showing at the Paul Short Invitational on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Lehigh University. Individually, she placed 10th overall in the women's Brown Race and was the Panther's first runner acrosse the line as she had been in the previous two races. Eickelberg covered the 6k course in a time of 22:07; just six seconds off her best time and 38 seconds better than her time from the same meet a year ago.
The Panthers will rest next weekend before hitting the trails once again on Saturday, October 19 when they compete at the University of Albany Invitational in Albany, N.Y.
