Elderly Woman Hit Twice, Killed Crossing Garden City Street: Police

GARDEN CITY PARK, NY — A woman was struck by two vehicles Tuesday evening in Garden City Park and was killed, police said.

Just after 6 p.m., the 75-year-old victim was crossing Marcus Avenue at Pubins Lane when a 2020 Jeep Wrangler, driven by a 26-year-old woman, slammed into her, authorities said.

The victim was then struck by a 2008 Honda Civic, driven by a 23-year-old man.

The woman, whose name was not identified by police, was pronounced dead by the Garden City Fire Department. Both drivers remained at the scene.

Police are investigating.
