Nassau Community College will once again participate in the American Heart/Stroke Walk/Run. Three thousand volunteers and participants are expected to take part in the Walk/Run. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the Walk/Run starts at 10:00 a.m.
“Nassau Community College is pleased to support the American Heart/Stroke Walk for the tenth year,” said Dr. Donald P. Astrab, President of NCC. “The partnership established over the years between the College and the American Heart Association has created opportunities for thousands of walkers and runners to raise much needed funding for heart and stroke research.” Last year, NCC raised close to $9,000 by participating in the Walk/Run.
Thomas Ockers, CEO of Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center, is the Chair of the 2011 American Heart/Stroke Walk/Run. Reginald Tuggle, Associate Vice President of Marketing and Communications, is the NCC Heart Walk Team Chair.
