John Flynn and Freebo will perform on Friday, October 5th at 8:30 p.m. (open mic at 7:30) at Garden Stage in Garden City, NY. $18 in advance/$20 at the door. For tickets and Information email calendar@uuccn.org or call (516) 248-8891.
John Flynn draws from a significant body of work, ranging from his early country offerings to story songs, love songs, songs for kids, funny songs, songs of social justice and meditations on loss, tolerance, faith and hope. Arlo Guthrie invited John on the historic "Train to New Orleans" tour following Hurricane Katrina. And Kris Kristofferson recited the lyrics to John's song "Without You with Me" at Stephen Bruton's funeral. Ramblin' Jack Elliott himself has called Flynn the undiscovered "John Lennon of the plasma generation"! www.johnflynn.net/

Best known as a world-class bassist (Bonnie Raitt, CSN, & more) Freebo is also a compelling and award-winning singer/songwriter. Here’s what critics are saying: “Freebo’s intimate and go-down-easy personable vocals tie in light-hearted fare, social commentary and spiritual quest with love-sweet-love, and make it sound seamless.” “Standing Ovation is an astounding song which encompasses a profound view of life.” “Listening to Freebo is like riding on a cumulus cloud of peaceful awareness…his own cosmic blend of folk/country/rock/soul ear-pleasing genre-defying music.” “Freebo’s new CD sounds as if he’s not really singing to you; he's talking to you. One of the best albums of the year.” www.freebomusic.com/
