Fight Turns Violent In Uniondale; Man Slashed With Box Cutter: Police
Gender Membreno-Pineda faces charges that include second-degree assault for the overnight Saturday incident, police said.

UNIONDALE, NY — A fight between two men in Uniondale, led to one person being slashed in the forearm and chest, police said.
Officers on patrol just after 4 a.m. Saturday noticed Gender Membreno-Pineda, 27, of Roosevelt, in a verbal dispute with a 25-year-old victim, police said.
It escalated as Membreno-Pineda used a boxcutter to injure the victim, authorities said.

Membreno-Pineda was placed under arrest without incident. He is charged with second-degree assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree criminal contempt.
The victim was taken to an area hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
