Garden City Girls Lax Captures Sixth Straight State Title
The Lady Trojans were unstoppable Saturday, beating Brighton 12-6.
Garden City's unstoppable varsity girls lacrosse team has done it again.
The Lady Trojans captured their sixth straight Class B state title Saturday, beating Brighton 12-6 and ending the 2011 season with a flawless 21-0 record.
The Lady Trojans have now won an impressive 12 state titles, including the last six Class B crowns (2006-2011).

Brighton finishes as state runner-up for the fourth time (2004, 2006, 2008, 2011) and is the last team to win a Class B title other than Garden City (defeated Garden City 11-8 in 2005).
Garden City goalie Kelly Weis was named tournament MVP.

"The girls played an outstanding game and beat a very good Brighton team 12-6," head coach Diane Chapman said. "They were able to overcome having to play down a player for the last 18 minutes of the game to secure the victory."
