Garden City HS Ranked 2nd-Best School On Long Island: Report
US News & World Report lists the top schools each year from more than 17,000 across the country.

GARDEN CITY, NY — Garden City High School was named one of the best schools in the state. The annual ranking by U.S. News & World Report places the school at number two on Long Island.
Garden City is ranked number 23 among schools in New York and 199th-best in the country.
All three rankings are improvements from the 2022 survey.

"At Garden City High School we always strive to be better," Garden City High School Principal Kevin Steingruebner said. “We have high expectations for our students and staff and we have a great school because of their commitment to continual improvement."
The U.S. News & World Report uses a methodology that includes college readiness, reading and math proficiency, college curriculum breadth and graduation rates.

"These rankings speak to the entire K-12 experience at Garden City Schools." Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kusum Sinha said. "The hard work done at every level; primary, elementary and middle, culminates at Garden City High School."
