Garden City Students Head Back To School For New Year Of Learning

Students returned Sept. 1 for the 2026-2027 school year as the district welcomes new and enhanced spaces.

GARDEN CITY, NY — The halls of Garden City public schools filled with students and staff on Sept. 1 as the district welcomed students back for another year.

Garden City students returned to classrooms Tuesday as the district kicked off the 2026-2027 school year.

Students and staff will make use of new and enhanced spaces across the district this school year, including recently completed athletic fields, classrooms and other facility improvements.

The district said the improvements are intended to provide students with spaces that support learning, collaboration, and extracurricular activities.

"There is so much to look forward to, and I am excited to see our students learn, grow and make new memories throughout the year," Superintendent of Schools Kusum Sinha said.
