Girls Swim Team Wins 13th Straight Championship for Garden City

Coach Anne Sullivan's girls once again delivered at the county championship meet with an outstanding effort.

Swimming is one of those sports where depth is critical to winning championships and Garden City proved that again at the championship meet.

Although they only had one race victory, the girls captured an unprecedented 13th straight title. The Lady Trojans claimed first place overall while outdistancing Bellmore-Merrick and Manhasset.

In winning the 200 medley relay, the quartet of Marie Clarkson, Natasha Senken, Kelly Quinn and Julia Hall not only broke Garden City's school record with a time of 1:52.69, they also qualified for the New York State championships.
