Girl Scouts Serve Up ‘Magic’ in This Year’s Mags’n’Munchies Initiative

Mags'n'Munchies helps Girl Scouts become entrepreneurs while giving back to their communities

The Girl Scouts of Nassau County (GSNC) are set to illuminate young minds with their eagerly anticipated Mags’n’Munchies program, running from September 29 through November 5. As the leaves change, the “Own Your Magic” theme lights the way for Girl Scouts to ignite their entrepreneurial spirits, learn valuable skills and make a lasting impact on their communities.

Under the banner of “Year of Girl Scouting,” the Mags’n’Munchies program offers an exciting journey for girls of all ages. Through engaging in-person and online sales, Girl Scouts will harness the power of entrepreneurship by practicing the five key leadership lessons, including goal setting, decision making, people skills, money management and business ethics.

Randell Bynum, chief executive officer of Girl Scouts of Nassau County, emphasizes the program’s significance, “Mags’n’Munchies empowers our Girl Scouts to shine brightly as they contribute to their communities, earn troop rewards and hone vital business and leadership skills. By participating in in-person and online sales, they will embrace the core tenets of entrepreneurial leadership.”

New to this year’s program are two tantalizing snack mixes. The Thai chili mix boasts a symphony of flavors, including sweet Thai chili almonds, rice crackers, wasabi peas, sesame sticks, garlic bread sticks and siracha corn nuggets in a 6oz. pop-top can. The cheddar caramel crunch mix, presented in a 6.5 oz. bag, harmoniously blends cheese crackers, cheese corn sticks, mini pretzels and caramel cheddar corn puffs.

In sync with the digital age, the Mags’n’Munchies program offers a seamless online experience. Each Girl Scout will craft a personalized avatar and record a heartfelt message, inviting friends and family to explore their digital store. Virtual rewards for avatars and progress tracking enrich the journey, making it both enjoyable and rewarding. Customers can also subscribe to hundreds of magazines or renew current subscriptions to benefit their favorite Girl Scout and her troop.

Continuing their commitment to community impact, Mags’n’Munchies allows participants to support Island Harvest’s mission to end hunger on Long Island. Each purchase empowers customers to contribute to “Care to Share,” sending nuts and snacks to local food pantries through Island Harvest.

As the Mags’n’Munchies program unfolds, GSNC invites all to step into the brilliance of entrepreneurship and community engagement. With the “Own Your Magic” theme guiding the way, participants are poised to embark on a transformative journey of growth and empowerment.
