More than 1,500 kids got free dental checkups and services Friday at the Cradle of Aviation museum in Garden City for Give Kids a Smile Day. North Shore-LIJ dental residents and staff volunteered their time to perform these screenings.
Joseph Brofsky, DMD, section head of dentistry at the North Shore-LIJ Health System and co-chair of Give Kids a Smile Day, encouraged children and their parents to brush their teeth twice a day for two minutes and to see a dentist twice a year.
