Girl Scouts of Nassau County Announces Staten Island Resident to Serve on Board of Directors

Girl Scouts of Nassau County announced today that Staten Island resident Pawel Zagaja has been nominated to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County Board of Directors through 2026. Pawel Zagaja was sworn in during the organization’s 59th Annual Meeting, which was held at the Ruth S. Harley University Center on the Adelphi University campus. Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s Board of Directors comprises lifelong Girl Scouts, community leaders, and nonprofit and corporative executives who provide leadership, innovation and constant support to the Girl Scouts of Nassau County council.
“Girl Scouts of Nassau County is proud to have such prestigious and accomplished members on its Board of Directors who inspire and empower our Girl Scouts,” said Randell Bynum, Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of Nassau County. “I am confident that this group of leaders will help cultivate the Girl Scout experience and help fulfill our mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.”
Girl Scouts of Nassau County’s board of directors provide strategic leadership and work collaboratively to build courage, confidence, and character in Nassau County girls. They will also help raise vital funds to expand access to Girl Scout experiences that socially, academically and emotionally empower girls throughout our community.

Pawel Zagaja is a Senior Director of JFK Gateway for DHL Express. Pawel started his DHL career in 2007; since then, he has been leading teams in different roles and capacities within the Northeast region of the United States. Before that, he started his career in logistics by pure accident as a package handler at DHL’s competitor. He quickly fell in love with a dynamic, fast-paced environment surrounded by great people. Pawel was born and grew up in Poland, moving to the United States in 2002. He refers to himself as proof of the existence of the American Dream. He believes that taking initiative and being fair, persistent, respectful, and hard-working are the main keys to success. Pawel is a supporter of Girl Scouts of Nassau County mission and has seen the impact of DHL’s partnership through Operation Cookie on military troops both abroad and around the country.
