Hempstead House Fire Leaves 4 Without Home: Fire Officials
Fire marshals say the Red Cross has been notified.
HEMPSTEAD, NY — A Hempstead house fire has displaced a family of four on Thursday morning, the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office said.
The Hempstead Fire Department responded to a two-story home on Parsons Drive after receiving a call at 7:41 a.m., fire marshals said.
The fire, which was located on the second floor, was brought under control in an hour by about 60 firefighters, fire marshals said.

According to fire officials, no injuries were reported, and smoke detectors were present and did activate. Two adults and two children were displaced – Red Cross has been notified, fire marshals said.
Mutual aid was provided by Uniondale, West Hempstead, South Hempstead, Rockville Centre, and Garden City, all under the command of Chief Carney, fire marshals said.
