MINEOLA, NY — Another bureaucratic boost is expected for the Las Vegas Sands. The operator of the proposed $4 billion hotel and casino at the Nassau Hub will get approval from the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency, Newsday reported.

While Sands hasn't applied for any tax breaks through the IDA, the agency must approve the 99-year lease agreement because the IDA awarded millions of dollars in tax breaks to another developer eight years ago, Newsday said.

The IDA, which has five of the six members appointed by County Executive Bruce Blakeman, will convene on Tuesday night, Newsday said.
