Hempstead Man Charged In Robbery Outside Of Uniondale 7-Eleven: PD

He ran away from the robbery scene, but was apprehended a short time after, Nassau police said.

UNIONDALE, NY — A Hempstead man has been charged with robbing a delivery man outside of 7-Eleven in Uniondale on Friday afternoon, Nassau police said.

Police said that at about 2:30 p.m., a 22-year-old man was making a delivery to the convenience store on Oak Street, when Felix White, 37, went inside of the man's truck and took his cell phone and backpack before waving a knife at him and then running away.

A short time later, officers found White and placed him under arrest without incident, police said, adding, that he was found to have a glass pipe containing a white powdery substance believed to be crack cocaine.

Detectives also found White was responsible for multiple thefts from July 7 to July 13, as well as one on July 20 from Home Depot in Hempstead.

White has been charged with first-degree robbery, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and three counts of petty larceny.

He was arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
