Nassau Man Charged In Sexual Abuse Of Girl, 14: Police
The man had "inappropriate contact" with the teenager while driving her to and from school, police say.

HEMPSTEAD, NY — A Hempstead man was arrested Tuesday in connection with the sexual abuse of a 14-year-old girl, Nassau police said.
Jose Amaya, 56, while working as a self-employed driver, had "inappropriate contact" with a teenage girl multiple times while driving her to and from school, police said.
Amaya and the girl's parents argued when they were made aware of Amaya's contact with their daughter, police said.

Amaya was arrested without incident, police said. He was charged with first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
He is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday at First District Court, at 99 Main St., Hempstead.
