Hempstead Murder Victim ID'd As North Carolina Man

Police say Karson Banks was sitting in a car when he was shot multiple times and killed. Anyone with information is asked to come forward.

HEMPSTEAD, NY — Nassau County police have identified the man who was murdered in Hempstead on Monday as a man from North Carolina.

According to police, at 11:23 a.m. on Oct. 5, Hempstead police officers responded to a call for multiple shots fired in front of 105 Terrace Ave. When they arrived, they found that Karson Banks, 31, of Salisbury, North Carolina, had been shot multiple times while sitting in a car.

Banks, who was originally from Hempstead, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into Banks' murder is still ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous, and you could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
