High School Students Capture 16 Medals at Long Island Math Fair

Garden City High School mathematicians competed against students from across Long Island in multiple rounds to achieve their medals at the Long Island Math Fair held at Hofstra University this spring.

"I am very proud of the entire group this year!!” said math teacher Donna Getchell.

The 16 medal winners are: Jessica Wood (grade 10, bronze), Shannon Carman (10, silver), Emily Spain (10, gold), Drusilla Falco (9, gold), Kathleen Demaria (9, gold); (standing, left to right): Michael Cassano (9, gold), Nikhil Patel (10, bronze), and Matthew Conroy (10, bronze).
