Hofstra Student Robbed In Home Invasion: Nassau Police

Police say the robber pointed a gun at the student at an off-campus home Monday night.

Nassau police are searching for a man who broke into the off-campus home of a Hofstra student on Monday and robbed them at gunpoint.

According to police, a man entered the room of a Hofstra student when he was at his home on Fairview Boulevard in Hempstead around 11:30 p.m. The man pointed a gun at the student and demanded money and jewelry. The robber then grabbed the student's computer and fled out of a side door.

Police say the robber was in his 30s and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants and had an American flag bandanna covering part of his face.

The home on Fairview Boulevard is located just blocks away from the Hofstra University campus.

Detectives request anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous, and you could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
