UNIONDALE, NY — The Nassau County Planning Commission is being sued by Hofstra University regarding its proposal to build a casino, according to a report by News 12 Long Island.

At issue, the university claims, is the commission violating the state's open meeting laws by not alerting the public of a hearing.

Las Vegas Sands has been in talks about taking over the Nassau Hub from the county.
