Holiday Show @ Garden City Public Library
Friends of the GC Public Library will sponsor a one-hour tap dance performance by the Red Hot Mamas on Thursday, December 11 at 1:30 pm.

Friends of the Garden City Public Library will sponsor a free one hour “Happy Holidays” show performed by The Red Hot Mamas on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 1:30pm. The Garden City Public Library is located at 60 Seventh St., in Garden City. Be entertained with energetic choreographed tap dancing to popular showtunes and holiday favorites – all in dazzling costumes! The program will include “Jingle Bell Boogie,” “Sleigh Ride,” “Happy Holidays,” “Hava Nagila,” and “Let It Snow” along with audience participation.
Garden City residents will be given priority by presenting your GCPL card at the program room door. Non-residents will be accommodated on a space available basis 10 minutes before showtime. The performance will be directed and choreographed by Toni Wortman and Louise Rastu with founder and guest choreographer Sandi Bloomberg, former Radio City Rockette. The Red Hot Mamas has been dancing in the New York area for over 20 years. Their popularity has steadily increased with audiences of all ages. This group of tap dancers are all Long Islanders & range in age from 54 to 83. They are based at the Jan Martin Dance studio in Huntington Station, NY. In 2011, the dance troupe had the exciting opportunity to audition for Paula Abdul’s “Live to Dance” Show. They were one of 500 groups that originally auditioned who made the “short list” round, receiving gold stars. In 2012, they were featured in Newsday’s “Life” section. # # #
