Homeless Man Broke Into School Twice And Stole iPads: Police
Police say the man entered the building first through a window, and then through a door, and stole the computers from a classroom.

A homeless man was arrested on Tuesday and charged with breaking into a school in Hempstead and stealing multiple iPads from classrooms.
According to police, the manager of the Academy Charter School, located at 94 Fulton Ave., reported to Hempstead police that several iPads were missing from a classroom.
Police investigated, and say they determined that Theodore K. Simonson, 54, entered the school through a first-floor window at 10 p.m. on Nov. 3, and stole eight iPads and a headset from a classroom. Later that night, at 4:19 a.m., police say Simonson entered the school again, this time through a door on the first floor, and stole an additional 14 iPads and another headset. The total loss to the school was more than $12,600.

Hempstead police saw Simonson walking on Jackson Street on Tuesday and placed him under arrest without incident. Police say the iPads were not recovered.
Simonson is charged with two counts of third-degree burglary. He is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday.
