Homeless Man Broke Into Over 60 Cars in Nassau County, NYC: Police

The thefts started in August 2015, police say.

A homeless New York City man was arrested on Wednesday for over 60 car larcenies in both Nassau County and New York City since 2015, according to Nassau Police.

Beginning on August 15, 2015, Michael Taylor, 33, would steal credit cards and identifications from cars that he would then use to make fraudulent purchases, police said. 

An investigation by the Third Squad, Second Squad, Fifth Squad, Garden City Police Department, NYC 111th Squad and the NCPD Asset Forfeiture Unit resulted in the location and arrest of Taylor on Wednesday, police said.

He is charged with first degree reckless endangerment, 13 counts of fourth degree grand larceny, first degree defraud, 12 counts of fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property, third degree criminal mischief and 12 counts of second degree identity theft, police said.

He will be arraigned on Thursday.
