Garden City, N.Y. – Senior midfielder Juan Aguiar was one of 29 student-athletes to be named to the Daktronics Men's Soccer All-East Region teams as it was announced yesterday. This is the first award for the St. John's transfer as he earned a spot on the First-Team.
A Northeast-10 First-Team All-Conference honoree, Aguiar was tied for first on the team with 17 points on six goals and five assists. The midfielder started in 12 games while seeing action in 15 of them and had a breakout game in a 4-1 win over American International on September 18 when he collected five points on two goals and one assist.
Aguiar helped the Panthers to an 11-7 overall record, 9-4 mark in conference play. In the Panther's first year competing at the Division II level, they made the conference tournament and made it to the semifinal round before being ousted by nationally top-ranked Southern New Hampshire University, 1-0.
