LI Children's Museum Offers Free Summer Admission For Active Military

It's the 13th year the museum is participating in the Blue Star Museums Initiative.

GARDEN CITY, NY — Long Island Children's Museum is giving a big thank you to our military personnel.

From May 20 (Armed Forces Day) through Sept. 3, the museum is offering free admission for current active members of the armed service and their families.

It is part of the national Blue Star Museums initiative.

"Participation in the Blue Star Museums program allows Long Island Children’s Museum to model lessons of gratitude to our young visitors by demonstrating our thanks to service families across the nation," LICM President Suzanne LeBlanc said.

The Long Island Children's Museum has been part of this program since 2010.

The Blue Star initiative expands the LICM's year-round military discount that provides free admission for one active duty, retired or spouse with military ID and one child.
