LI Third Grader Wins Second Place In PBS Writing Contest
The student was recognized for creativity and storytelling and invited to a winners' celebration in Buffalo.

GARDEN CITY, NY — A Garden City student placed second in the PBS Writing Project for her piece, 'Save the Bird!'
Stratford Avenue third grader, Celine Lu, earned second place in the annual Buffalo Toronto Public Media PBS KIDS Writers Contest.
The contest was part of a larger PBS KIDS Writers Contest and was open to children who reside in Western New York counties encompassing the broadcast viewing area, such as Erie, Niagara, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Allegany, Wyoming, Genesee, Orleans, as well as Southern Ontario.

The regional competition had students in kindergarten through third grade submit original stories and illustrations nationwide. Both elements were judged based on storytelling, creativity, and originality.
Celine is invited to attend a celebration event in Buffalo honoring all of this year's winners.
