Enjoy lively and moving renditions of traditional songs of Ireland, as well as amusing and enchanting stories from Irish culture. The storytelling tradition goes back over 1,000 years when the “Seanchas,” (bearer of old lore) kept alive the great myths and folktales of Ireland. Come share your own Irish roots and connections as we are transformed back to the “old country.”

Jim’s Irish roots were firmly planted on “the old sod” as a child of Irish immigrant parents. He grew up on a farm in his mother’s hometown of Castletown Geoghegan, County Westmeath. Tough economic times brought the family back to New York during 1956. Jim has been singing and acting since he was 13 years old. He also draws his experience from the classrooms of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the Herbert Bergdorf Studios to the stage in a variety of roles from Shakespeare to Albee. He learned to play the bodram and tin whistle at the Irish Arts Center in Manhattan where he served as its Director and continues to teach Irish Ceili and group dancing.
