Long Island Lightning Back in Action Saturday

See the Long Island Lightning back in action Saturday at the St. Paul's Recreation Complex.

The season began with a four-game sweep of teams from Virginia and North Carolina in Richmond. The Lightning are back home Saturday with a whole day of games as the two teams face off against a team from Baltimore, the Bennett Blazers.

The Blazers finished second in the USA last season and represent an early season challenge for the Long Island Lightning, which now has two teams - Lightning Black and Lightning Gold.

The Lightning Black team is made up of the program's most experienced players. This group finished tenth in the USA last season. They're a little older, more experienced, a little faster and a little stronger. Several members of this team are being recruited by multiple college programs. The Lightning Black should be a real contender this season.

The Lightning Gold team is comprised of young eager talent and is improving with every outing. Players on this team are learning the game, developing both their individual and team skills and most importantly, having fun. The Lightning Gold represents the future.
