Long Island Tween Wins Golden Buzzer On 'America's Got Talent'
You can watch Luke Islam's stunning performance, and the tearful reaction, right here.
Last night, 12-year-old Garden City resident Luke Islam took the stage on "America's Got Talent" and wowed the country.
Luke has been singing since he learned to talk, his father said. His dream, he told the judges is to become a star and sing on Broadway.
He took those first steps last night when he performed "She Used To Be Mine" from the musical "The Waitress." He wowed the audience with his voice and, more importantly, the judges, too.

"I think we're watching the beginning of your dream coming true," judge Howie Mandel said.
"You have such talent and grace," said judge Julianne Hough, whom Luke said he admired the most. "You have something so special. You have an essence inside of you that has given you a gift. And I believe that not only are you going to become a star and make your dream come true, but I don't think you have to wait that much longer."

With that, Hough hit the show's golden buzzer. Each of the four judges is allowed to press the golden buzzer once per season, and award the contestant with an automatic spot in the show's finals. Which means America will be seeing more of Luke soon.
"I never expected something like this to happen in my whole life," a tearful Luke said after the golden confetti came raining down on him. "I'm so grateful. Thank you so much."
