UPDATE: Police ID Man Who Died In Crash In Nassau County On Christmas Night
A 27-year-old man had serious leg injuries and a 63-year-old man suffered trauma to his arm and body, police said.
HEMPSTEAD, NY — Nassau police have released the identity of the 61-year-old man who died after a four-car chain reaction crash that injured four others in Hempstead on Christmas night.
Edgar Romero of Freeport was driving a 2014 Volkswagen westbound on Greenwich Street, near Henry Street, when it collided with a 2008 Acura MDX which struck a 2013 Ford Explorer waiting to turn north on Henry Street in the westbound lane on Greenwich Street at about 6 p.m. on Sunday, according to police.
Romero's Volkswagen struck a second vehicle, a 2014 BMW, that was driven by a 63-year-old man, traveling south on Henry Street, police said.

Romero was pronounced dead at the scene, police said, adding that the Acura's driver, a 37-year-old man, had serious leg injuries, and the 63-year-old man driving the BMW had trauma to his arm and body.
A 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl riding in the Acura had minor lacerations, police said.

The injured were taken to an area hospital for treatment, according to police.
A 37-year-old woman riding in the Acura and the man driving the Ford Explorer both were not injured, according to police.
The investigation is ongoing.
