Man Attacked Employee Who Tried To Stop His Shoplifting: Police

Police say the man and woman stole from a Macy's and then swung a knife at the security guard who tried to stop them.

GARDEN CITY, NY — Nassau County police are looking for a duo who attacked a store employee with a knife when they tried to stop the two from shoplifting.

According to police, the man and woman pictured above entered the Macy's in the Roosevelt Field Mall, at 630 Old Country Road in Garden City, at 4:50 p.m. on Sept. 29. Police say they put merchandise in a bag and tried to leave the store with it.

Store security tried to stop the two, and police say the man pulled a knife and swung it at the security officer. The two then fled on food.

The man was Black, 6 feet tall and 220 pounds. He was wearing a NY KNICKS hat, a black shirt, black shorts over black pants and a face mask. The woman was also Black, 5 feet, 5 inches tall and 130 pounds. She was wearing a white shirt, black pants with a floral pattern, a blue bag and a face mask.

Police ask anyone with information about this robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous, and you could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
