Man Fought With Police Officer During Mall Arrest: NCPD
The 25-year-old assaulted the officer while he was being arrested for arguing and menacing a store employee, police said.

EAST GARDEN CITY, NY - An Elmont man was charged with assaulting a police officer at Roosevelt Field Mall on Wednesday afternoon, according to Nassau Police.
On Tuesday, 25-year-old Geovaunni Faucher entered Champs Sports on 630 Old Country Road and was making a purchase when he began to argue with an employee over the method of payment, police said.
Faucher grabbed at his waistband and stated he had a gun before leaving the store, police said.

After he left, the 38-year-old male employee called 911 and reported the incident.
On Wednesday, officers continued to investigate the incident at Roosevelt Field and found Faucher, police said.

While conducting an investigation, he fled officers, police said.
A short time later, officers attempted to arrest him and a struggle ensued, police said.
Faucher was subdued and placed under arrest, police said.
An officer suffered lacerations to his left hand and both knees. He was treated at a local hospital and released.
Faucher is charged with second degree assault, fourth degree criminal mischief, second degree obstructing governmental administration and third degree menacing.
He will be arraigned Thursday.
