Man Killed In Nassau After Being Hit By 2 Cars

Police say the unidentified man was trying to cross Peninsula Boulevard when he was hit and killed.

HEMPSTEAD, NY — A man was killed in Hempstead Thursday night after police say he was hit by two cars while trying to cross the road.

According to police, at 11 p.m., the man, who has not yet been identified, was crossing Peninsula Boulevard on foot at the intersection of Washington Street. He was hit by a 2011 Toyota Camry heading north on Peninsula Boulevard that was being driven by a 34-year-old man. The man was knocked to the ground and then hit by a 2012 Nissan Murano in the adjacent lane, which was being driven by a 54-year-old woman.

The drivers called police and waited for officers to arrive. The man suffered multiple traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
