Man Shot In Head, Killed In Nassau: Police

HEMPSTEAD, NY — Police are investigating a murder that occurred him Hempstead Tuesday night.

According to police, Hempstead police officers responded to a Shot Spotter notification at 8:35 p.m. near the intersection of Vermont Avenue and Dakota Place. When the officers arrived, they found a 40-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his head lying on the ground.

A Northwell ambulance responded to the scene, and a paramedic pronounced the man dead. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
