Man Tried To Rob Nassau Bank, But Ran Away Instead

Police say the man slid the teller a note demanding money, but then fled before he got anything.

Nassau police are searching for a man who tried to rob a bank in Hempstead on Tuesday, but then ran away before he got any money.

According to police, a man entered the Chase Bank located at 136 Fulton Ave. and approached the teller, passing her a note demanding money. Before getting any money, the man fled on foot. There were seven employees and two customers in the bank at the time.

The robber was a black man, 30 to 35 years old and 6 feet, 1 inch tall with a thin build. He was wearing a white hat, a gray long-sleeved exercise jacket, blue jeans and black shoes.
