MS-13 Member Charged In Murder Of Nassau Teen: Prosecutors

Prosecutors have charged a 19-year-old man that they say is a member of MS-13 with the shooting death of a Uniondale teen earlier this month.

According to Newsday, police charged Nerlin Omar Chacon-Ruano, of Hempstead, with second-degree murder in the death of Miguel Hernandez on Sept. 15.

On that day, officers responded to a call for shots fired on Walnut Street in Uniondale at 11:59 p.m. When they arrived, they found 18-year-old Hernandez lying on the ground. He had been shot multiple times. The teen was taken to Nassau University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead by doctors at 12:34 a.m.
