Multiple Dangerous Drivers Taken Off The Road: Garden City Police

GARDEN CITY, NY — The Garden City Police Department reported the following incidents for the week ending Nov. 10.

Nov. 4

  • The department investigated the theft of multiple items from a vehicle parked in a Kensington Road driveway.
  • A 21-year-old driver was charged with excessive speed on Clinton Road and driving with a suspended license.

  • Graffiti was found on a utility pole in Parking Field 6E.
  • A 27-year-old driver was charged with driving on Franklin Avenue with six license suspensions as well as unregistered vehicle and uninsured operation.

Nov. 6

  • The department received a report of a vehicle leaving the scene after colliding with another vehicle on Stewart Avenue.
  • A resident reported that as a result of a computer scam where his personal information was compromised, there were multiple attempts to cash fraudulent checks against his bank account.
  • A 57-year-old driver was charged with driving with a revoked license on Stewart Avenue at Tullamore Road. He was also charged with six additional license suspensions, improper plate, unregistered vehicle, and uninsured operation.

  • Officers responded to a report of a theft of a bicycle from a Brook Street garage. An officer located the thief, a 56-year-old man, on Clinton Road in possession of the bicycle. He was arrested and charged with petty larceny.
  • Upon investigation of a vehicle on Easton Road with no rear license plate, the 26-year-old driver was charged with driving with a suspended license, no rear plate, switched front license plate, and unregistered vehicle.

Nov. 8

  • Officers responded to a traffic light malfunction on Old Country Road at Washington Avenue.
  • A bicycle chained to a pole in Parking Field 2S was reported stolen.

Nov. 9

  • A 23-year-old Man was arrested on Franklin Avenue for DWI and excessive speed.
  • A sign and a pumpkin were reported stolen from the yard of a Huntington Road residence.
  • As a result of a traffic investigation, a 35-year-old man was arrested for driving on Cherry Valley Avenue and 9th Street with a revoked license, 13 license suspensions, unregistered vehicle, uninsured vehicle, and defective brake lights.

Nov. 10

  • A vehicle was reported stolen from a New Hyde Park Road Service Station.
  • A Garden City business reported an unauthorized check for $3,100 was cashed against the company’s bank account.
