Nassau Girl, 12, Found OK: Police

She was found after she hadn't been seen since Friday afternoon, police say.

UPDATED 12:50 p.m. Sunday: HEMPSTEAD, NY —Sharon Nicoll Aparicio, 12, of Hempstead, was found, Nassau police announced early Sunday morning.

HEMPSTEAD, NY — Sharon Nicoll Aparicio, 12, of Hempstead, has been missing since Friday afternoon, the Nassau County Police Department said. She was last seen leaving her Fairview Boulevard home at 2 p.m. and reported missing to police at 8:45 p.m.

She is described as Hispanic, five feet tall, 93 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Aparicio was last seen wearing blue jeans, a multicolored shirt, a black jacket and gray sneakers. It is not known where she was headed.

Detectives ask anyone with information regarding the missing child to please contact the Nassau County Police Department Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347 or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
