Nassau House Fire Leaves 1 Woman Dead, 7 Hospitalized: Police
It happened overnight Tuesday in Herricks.

HERRICKS, NY — A house fire in Herricks left one woman dead and sent seven people to the hospital, Nassau police said.
The fire started at around 3 a.m. at a home on Lafayette Street.
Seven people got out of the home safely. They were treated at a nearby hospital for smoke inhalation and are listed in stable condition, authorities said.

The property was fully engulfed when they officers arrived. The victim was found inside the home.
As many as 60 firefighters from nine departments, including Garden City Park and Mineola, extinguished the blaze.
