Nassau Man Kept Ex-Girlfriend Prisoner For Days: Police
Police say the man kidnapped his ex-girlfriend and her dog and kept her locked up in his home for days.

A Uniondale man was arrested Monday night and charged with kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and keeping her prisoner in his house for three days, before he was arrested after a joint investigation by the Nassau and Suffolk county police departments.
According to police, on Friday, Jan. 5, Michael S. Villanueva, 23, of Second Place, violated a Suffolk County Stay Away Order by driving to the home of his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend on West Main Street in East Islip. Police say Villanueva found his ex-girlfriend walking her dog outside her home, and grabbed the dog and put it in his car. The woman got in the car to get her dog, and police say Villanueva drove away with the both of them, going back to his home in Uniondale.
While driving, police say Villanueva took the woman's phone when she attempted to call 911.

Police say Villanueva kept the woman locked up in his home for three days. On the third day (Monday, Jan. 8), police say Villanueva allowed the woman to use his phone to call her parents. Her parents immediately called 911 and Nassau police responded to Villanueva's home, but found they had both gone.
After further investigation, and with the assistance of the Suffolk County Police Department, the two were located by detectives at a home on Parkway Avenue in Amityville. The woman was not injured, and Villanueva was arrested without incident.

Villanueva is charged with second-degree kidnapping, third-degree robbery, fourth-degree grand larceny and first-degree criminal contempt. He is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Wednesday.
